REINDEER

This is a craft to do with your kids, or grandkids.
You will need enough dark brown paper to trace the childs foot.
Enough light brown to trace the childs hands.
After tracing and cutting out the hands and feet of your child.
Let the child draw eyes and a nose on the reindeers head.
The heel of the childs foot is the nose of the deer.
Attach the hands to the top {toe} portion of the reindeer.
These are his antlers.
We had alot of fun making these this year.
We sent a reindeer to grandma, and since I am a scrapbooker,
I used acid free paper, so we can put them in our Christmas album.
This way you can keep track of your growing children.

SPARKLING WREATH

Supplies:
10-inch Brass Ring
50-yard Spool of 3/8-inch Wide Ribbon.{You can use any Christmas ribbon you choose}
Cut the ribbon in 12-inch lengths. Tie the ribbon in bows around the brass ring.
Form loops of equal size,and trim tails about 1 inch linger than the loops.
Adjust bow size for larger and smaller rings.
Completely fill ring with bows. For a trim use wire to add what you would like.

FESTIVE CENTERPIECE

Supplies:
Florists Foam {soak in water before use}to fit the platter you are using
Branches of Blue Spruce and Green Fir {fan them out to cover florists foam}
Veriegated Holly or Ivy.
White Berries and Flowers. {substitute silk flowers and plastic berries for a longer-lasting display}
Pinecones, Mountain Ash Berries and whole dried fruit will add a seasonal touch.
Cinnamom Sticks
1. Prepare the dried material first. Cut cinnamon sticks in 2-inch lengths and tie into bundles with
silver ribbon.Group the pinecones in 3's and bind with lengths of wire so that twisted ends protrude.
2. Using florist's tape, secure the damp foam to the dish or platter you picked.
Push a candle into the center and add other tall candles around it,
spacing them evenly. Poke the spruce and fir around the edge of the foam.
3. Push the shorter candles in around the outside. Cut short sprigs of holly and ivy and use them to fill
the sides and center of display. Then add groups of mountain ash berries at well-spaced intervals.
4. Push the twisted wire ends of the bunches of pinecones into the foam,
close to the base of the candles and between the sprigs of fir.
Turn the dish while working so that it looks even from all angles.
5. Cut the Flower stems to about 6" long and push them in around the bases of the candles.
Cut the stems at an angle to help absorb water-do not slit or bash them as this will make them harder to insert.
6. Skewer the dried fruits on toothpicks and place in the centerpiece in small bunches.
Alternatively, use pre-wired fake fruit. Top the fruit with clusters of white berries and cinnamon sticks.
NOTE!
Candlelight adds a dramatic effect but NEVER leave a burning candle unattended
or within reach of small children or pets!
Replace candles when they have burned to within 2" of the foliage.
HANDY HINTS
Keep the display fresh by spraying it with plant spray every day.
Keep the foam moist by adding water to the dish from time to time.
